A brief update for you LL.
Windy Days
You said in the past I am lucky, and I said you make your own luck.. It seems you were partially correct as Hurricane Irma has spared our home in Naples, Florida with, I understand minimal damage. Likewise, the same for our home in West Palm Beach. We have a whole office of guys and girls to sort out insurance etc and staff on the spot. At the end of the day they are just other homes.
I guess the other piece of 'luck' is our spending some time, as we are now, on the West Coast. It has been real hot here in Oregon and is set to hit 89F (32C) today. You once laughingly talked of the 'the bleak north'. I think you were right. No wonder you try and escape to Spain when you can.
Mind you we have some forest fires to the east of here at Eagle Creek with over 3,000 acres on fire.
Talking of travel, we will be over in Europe toward the end of the month. In London briefly, then flying to a country to the south east of Poland for a brief visit of a few days - you can figure where LL or maybe I will tell you later in the month. Then it's back to the USA, before heading to Australia for our usual month of summer down under. Not a bad life is it lady, shame you didn't see fit to share it, but then I don't think you could have kept up, or fitted in with my friends and associates.
Rainy Days
Seems you have had plenty of rain there, not least while you were walking. The distance you covered was pretty minimal. Both of you must be far from fit. I walk six times that distance without noticing it and regularly do 10 miles...and I'm 6 years older than both of you!
If it's of interest all my folks over here in the US are safe and sound. Jon was the last out of Florida and he's with the rest of our families in New England.
Ciao Bella😊
