Touring

For LL in the UK

If you have been 'following' me LL, you will have figured out that I am on a short tour of the UK. I hasten to add that I am not alone either. After London at the beginning of last week, I spent some time with friends and at my home in Cambridge. Then we travelled north to York where we spent a couple of days. Durham was our next stop mainly because I spent time at University there back in the 1980's.

Our latest stop is Edinburgh. I'm here tonight and tomorrow then onward. Wonder where that will be? Well, I don't have to wonder, but you may. It's not often I travel all the way around the UK but this trip is special for both of us.

Soon it will be back to London and then away to Europe and other 'friends'.

You really did me the biggest favor ever when you played away. I would never be where I am now if it hadn't been for your playing away. Strange how just one event can change a persons life. What you did behind my back, certainly changed mine and very, very much for the better. I guess you may have figured that out by now.

It's not been a bad life overall. A naval career, a banking career and in the last twenty plus years a multi-millionaire (billionaire in fact). I lost two wives to death's clutches but they were both wonderful people - one English, the other American. These days there is no talk of marriages, just good times, very good times with a variety of 'friends'.

Then there's you - the loser, and you are the loser, which I'm sure you realise. Of course over the past nearly fourteen years you have come to terms with it, but I know you regretted your decision and your actions. Remember what you said? 'Why do I always make the wrong decisions'. I think it was a question, but it also works in a rhetorical way, too.

Sad really, not so much for me but for you. I had very strong feelings for you back then, but now? You hold no attraction for me whatsoever.

I'll write more as I graze past your neck of the woods...and I do know where your neck of the woods is, of course. Not that I will be paying you a visit, of course. Nothing could be further from my mind.

We were getting along just fine back in the day, but ma'am you really and truly know how to mess things up and your life along with it. Look where you are now - with a grossly overweight soccer fanatic whose ego is almost as large as his gut. You aren't doing too badly yourself either.

On that note we are off to dinner.

Ciao

Faces in Monochrome

LL in the UK

I thought you would like to know that I don't only take shots like the ones I usually post. They, of course, are to remind you that you weren't the only fish in the sea, that two could play your game and that I have had no problem attracting beautiful women into my life.

To demonstrate that point ( that I take other shots), this blog contains some of the photos of women, all in monochrome, that formed part of my first exhibition in a New York gallery (and also London later) in 2007 and 2008.

Enjoy - I didn't think they were bad for my first professional shot at another career, alongside all my other business interests. The models are from here, there and everywhere, including some casual shots, all exhibited with permission. Mostly innocuous, but several taken in more intimate surroundings.

Ciao

A Fairy Tale

For LL in the UK

Most fairy tales have a happy ending and so does this one.

Once upon a time there was a prince. He had led a varied life serving his country and creating wealth, not only for himself, but for others. Sadly, some years in the past his princess died and he was grief stricken. Then what he thought was impossible happened. Along came another 'princess' and he was bowled over by her and her apparent affection. A few months of happiness was enjoyed by the prince.

He thought it might go on forever, but it was not to be.

His second princess was given to drinking more alcohol than was sensible and, during one of these bouts of drinking, she let slip that she had been seeing another prince. The prince thought on this for a while and gave her one chance. She failed to commit to it and so he decided that there were probably other princesses in the kingdom and beyond, and went out to seek them.

There were many, more than he ever imagined. From then on he did his best to keep her but it seemed she couldn't stay with just one prince so he decided to manipulate matters so that she would leave him of her own accord. She did.

Eventually, he moved to another kingdom, met a really beautiful princess and for many years lived very happily.

She, the original princess, met an ogre albeit a reasonable one and was unable to leave his clutches. Eventually, in time she grew to be like him. Her destiny was now locked into a rut of habitual activities. Often she would dream of how life might have been had she acted differently.

Then reality would force her back into the present and the 'lot's he had brought on herself.

The prince lost his second princess when she passed away, but  now has many princesses that fill his time and his needs. His move to the other kingdom brought with it more riches to add to those he already possessed and he was very happy with all that he had.

The End
