Have been preoccupied with polar vortexes (cold and snow to you), our home here in New Hampshire, the horses and the breeding program, and friends and overseas visitors. BJ someone else you don't know is visiting with his wife Josie. It always has amused me that he shares his christian name with your surname. He was the first I knew with the name, long before you and the ex - PM.
We have snow over here still, of course, but nowhere near as bad as it was a week ago. Still snowing, but we are prepared for the normal stuff and of course we enjoy it too. You know I am a country boy at heart, so I'm in my element. I'll attach some horse photos below. Mostly taken in the summer and fall of last year. They are all stabled now. Just a couple in the photos below:
You were right. Some of us are very lucky, whether we make that luck or have it showered upon us. I guess I have had a sprinkling of both. On the one hand I am very successful in business, I write, which I enjoy immensely, and it too brings in the bucks. Then for leisure I have Florida, Australia and Europe, boats and fishing. So that satisfies my ex Navy persona. For relaxation friends, family and my art. Finally, but not the least in any way whatsoever, my beautiful wife. You could say I have it made...and you would be right.
We are coming over to the UK shortly for F's birthday, staying about 10 days before coming back here into February. Then we have some friends visiting from the UK who want to see the Keys.
Charlie (Charlotte) who manages our London Office, has made all the arrangements for our trips throughout 2014 out of Heathrow, including those to the Far East and Australia. So maybe I'll see you in Singapore, KL or Hong Kong sometime. Just joking...you rarely make it farther than Spain! Jon who heads up the Florida Office has arranged all our US trips to California, Oregon, here and a few other places, although we take many more trips than that internally...some in our own plane. He's also responsible for Hawaii, South Korea, Japan and China.
Makes you think a bit doesn't it. All those mundane trips to Spain, occasionally interspersed with travel to a few, very few other places. Then there's your weekends...those are partly spent alone, like last week due to his obsession with soccer. Do you really think you made the right choice? I'd love to know. So for you it's around 9 years of weekends and for me 8 years of a full and happy family life, pretty much 24/7 - the way it should be.
You hesitated in early 2006...and made the wrong decision, as much out of fear as impulse. You can figure out what I mean by fear. Impulse - that was always your biggest downfall.
I guess you wonder why I still write these occasional missives - partly to point out what a big mistake you made, partly for 'old times' sake and partly....well you know why, if you really think about it deeply.
As usual, that certain person is enjoying some seafood :))
