Life in Florida

For LL in the UK

It's been some time since I wrote at length about my life now, LL. I also think that I have given you more than an insight into the good times I have enjoyed with a plethora of ladies. So, time for a change.

For a number of reasons, I don't post photos of my home here in Naples, nor any shots of me. The latter mainly because I prefer my near anonymity, given the books I write and the photography I have pursued over the years. As to my home. I have given you a glimpse of it and others, but I am not given to disclosing their locations to you.

My life is quite busy in a very pleasurable way. I travel a good deal (thank goodness for having a private jet and helicopter), spend part of the summers in Europe and the winters here, and in Australia. The remainder of the year I spend on the ranch in New Hampshire, although I do visit some locations for short periods.

I am very wealthy now. I was pretty well off when we met, but not to the extent I am now. I could go into detail about shrewd investments in real estate, the stock market, business interests and the partial merger of Ash and my 'empires'; but I won't. Fact is my lifestyle and the circles I move in now are far from anything you might be familiar with. I guess I made the right decision when I engineered you leaving. What followed that parting was merely a lesson for you. That every betrayal has its 'comeback'.

My days here in Naples are very laid back and relaxing. First thing I walk the dogs, Ben and Prince. Ben is slowing a bit now but Prince keeps him on his toes. They are both golden retrievers. They love it on the ranch where they can chase critters and are free to roam. Then back here for breakfast, frequently by the pool watching the boats go by in the early part of the day. They are a fair distance but my yard has a clear view to the sea.

Like everyone these days I then catch up on emails, calls and any paperwork that needs my attention. In the main I have now stood back from day to day involvement. I just make the strategic decisions. The rest of the day is mine. I play golf with some buddies at the club, every now and then hop over to Miami to make a local station program on cooking. That is really fun. A lot of banter flows. I think the nearest thing over there is that show called Saturday Kitchen.

I swim of course. With two pools it would be a sin not to and I often drive out for lunch with a lady. No particular one. I have more than several in the neighborhood to choose from. The afternoons might be spent on my boat. I have brought it down to my own dock from Estero while I am here. So just a short walk to my jetty and we are away.

My last companion for lunch, dinner and well as a companion was a doctor...a lady one, of course.

Afternoons I relax in part and write if the mood takes me plus the occasional swim. Incidentally, I am rarely alone in case you might be wondering, following the loss of Ash.

Evenings I cook for whoever may be visiting, or head out for a meal again, never alone. We always enjoy cocktail hour either out or in. I have a driver, but still drive myself of course. My driver is pretty useful when we are out and want to drink.

I'm generally up at 6-6.30 and off to bed 10.30 - 11.00. I guess that may give you a flavor of my time here but it doesn't cover all that I do by a long way LL.

I still have what is charmingly called a cottage on Sanibel. Forget any thoughts of English cottages. This is large, new and has its own mooring...not a million miles from Granma Dots. Sarasota is another spot I frequent. Great old town (old over here anyway).

That's all for now

Ciao
